Schools War on Waste Forum

The City of Hobart invites teachers, students, parents and friends to hear representatives from a variety of schools (prep – 12) who are successfully tackling waste.

Learn about some fabulous initiatives. Be inspired by what can be done. Get access to free resources and support that could help with your school’s war on waste. Hear about how others have approached common hurdles and roadblocks in their journey to make their school more sustainable.

WHEN: 6th November, 4 – 6 pm.
WHERE: Hobart Town Hall, Macquarie Street Hobart
WHO: Teachers, Students, Parents and Friends Committees, Anyone & Everyone interested in changing the state of waste in their school community (primary, secondary and college).

Northern Tasmania – Waste NoT Awards 2018

Have you, your school, or your business made an effort to change the way you manage your waste?

The Waste Not Awards 2018 recognises and rewards schools, individuals and organisations who have improved their waste management practices in the 2017/2018 financial year.

From recycling to re-invention, upcycling and education initiatives, take part to share and celebrate your achievements.

Applicants and their projects must be within the Northern Tasmanian Waste Management Group region comprising Break O’Day, Dorset, George Town, Launceston, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands and West Tamar municipal areas.


Entries open 2 July and close on August 10th 2018.
