International Day of Forests
March 21, 2015
Celebrate the International Day of Forests and remind everyone how and why forests are integral to sustainable development and action on climate change.
Forests and trees sustain and protect us in invaluable ways. They provide the clean air that we breathe and the water that we drink. They host and safeguard the planet’s biodiversity and act as our natural defense against climate change. Life on earth is made possible and sustainable thanks to forests and trees.
The theme of the 2015 International Day of Forests (IDF) is Forests, Climate, Change. Chosen purposely to highlight the ways in which forests and climate change are linked, and to rally global support for greater action and change.
